There are 79 private universities in Bangladesh. Among these universities, few of them are violating the rules and conditions of UGC. A number of universities are running illegal campuses. Some universities have ownership problem and nonexistence of permanent campus. Moreover, certificate trading and lack of norm of education are also marked in some private universities.

Agricultural land in Bangladesh is decreasing at an alarming rate due to growing housing needs and the use of arable land in non-agricultural sectors. At present, Bangladesh does not have any law to protect the conversion of arable land to non-agricultural uses, as a result, agricultural land area converted to residential or industrial area very rapidly. Study shows that Bangladesh has been losing nearly 70,000 hectares of agricultural land annually.
